Brummana
Brummana (also written Broummana) is located 17 km northeast of Beirut, nestled on the mountainside at an elevation of about 750 meters. Once a quaint summer resort, it was known for its pine trees, mild weather, famous hotels, the International Tennis Tournament, and Brummana High School.
Over the past 25 years, Brummana has transformed into a bustling town. Many families now reside there year-round, and the population has grown to approximately 13,000. While the number of hotels has declined, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies have flourished.
Weather
In April, temperatures average around 22°C, with occasional rainy days.
Brummana High School
The Yearly Meeting will be held at Brummana High School, a Friends school founded over 150 years ago. Today, it serves around 1,300 students. In the 1970s, the school had 600–700 students, about half of whom were boarders. During the Lebanese civil war, boarding numbers fell sharply, leading to the closure of the boarding section. The dormitories are now used only in summer for camp programs.
Accommodation
o Dormitories: Friends attending the Yearly Meeting will be housed in basic student dorms at the lower end of the campus. The walk to the Meeting House and dining facilities at the top of the campus takes about 10 minutes uphill. A free shuttle service will be available.
o Hotels in Brummana: Options include the Printania Hotel, Garden Hotel, Crillon Hotel, and Quartier Swiss Hotel, with prices ranging from USD 50–150 per night.
o Hotels in Beit Meri (nearby): The Bustan Hotel and Wakim Hotel offer similar rates and are only 5–10 minutes away by car.
Money
o Financial transaction in Lebanon can be done in dollars and/or Lebanese pounds. 1U$=89,500 LL. (Shops often consider $1=!00,000L.L for small change)
o ATM accept foreign Debit cards but charge %5 transaction fee. Withrawal limits/day varey between $400 to $1000.
o Some business such as hotels, car rentals, supermarkets accept foreign credit cards

Entertainment and Scenery
Brummana offers a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and gyms. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Beirut, the sea on one side, and mountains on the other. Quiet roads near the school are ideal for strolling. Please note that prices in Brummana tend to be on the higher side.

o Electricity: 220V, 50Hz, French standard plugs.
o Water: Tap water is safe, though bottled water is inexpensive and widely preferred.
o Connectivity: WiFi is available on campus. Local SIM cards (phone and internet) cost about USD 15.
o Visas: Many visitors, including British, French, US, and most European passport holders, can obtain a visa upon arrival at Beirut Airport for about USD 20. Check with the Lebanese embassy in your country for specific requirements.
o Important: Entry will be denied if your passport contains Israeli stamps.
